Here at Feridies, we roast our plump, extra large Virginia Peanuts in pure peanut oil for a richer flavor in small batches. Then, we add wasabi spice to give our Wasabi Nuts a fiery taste that is truly different. The first bite offers a sting on the tongue and a sharp vapor in the nasal passages. The second bite softens the sting a bit with that rich peanut taste Feridies Virginia Peanuts are known for. The Shelf Life is approximately 1 year. The dimension of each 9 oz. can is 4" x 3.25". OU Dairy Kosher Certified.
Wasabi (sometimes spelled Wasabe) is made from a plant that grows naturally along streams in Japanese mountain valleys. The stem of the plant can be grated to make a paste sold in small tubes similar to toothpaste, or dried and ground into a powder that can be used like a dried spice. The culinary effect is more pungent, similar to horseradish (Wasabi is often referred to as Japanese horseradish) than simply hot. In Japan, the Wasabi paste is mixed with soy sauce to create a condiment familiar to those who like sushi and sashimi.
